Residential Care

Emunah’s children’s homes in Israel offer a lifeline to children who cannot live at home as their parents are unable to care for them.

Children living in Emunah’s Residential Homes often come from places of neglect or abuse, or the parents do not have the capacity to give their children the care they deserve. Whilst Emunah aims to keep families connected, sometimes the only stable family environment the children experience is in our centres.

Emunah’s staff strive to provide a loving and warm environment where the children feel supported and seen.

Sarah Herzog Children's Centre - Afula

The Sarah Herzog Children’s Home in Afula, Emunah’s longest-running home since 1943, provides a safe, nurturing environment for children from a wide range of difficult backgrounds. Supporting over 45 residential children aged 8–18 and 105 children in day programmes, the home offers therapeutic care, specialised education, and after-school support, including hot meals and enrichment activities. Emunah’s aim is to keep the family together as long as it is safe.

The day programmes provide transport for children to and from school, giving them meals and educational support. Parents are able to go and work in order to provide for their family, with Emunah being there to support the families throughout. The home also offers urgent shelter for children in crisis, providing stability and immediate care.

Neve Landy Children's Village - Even Shmuel

Built in 2003 as a residential home, Neve Landy is aimed to support boys with special social and educational needs who are unable to be cared for in other residential homes. This complex provides a home for 74 boys from across Israel who require more specialised care.

For each boy there is an individual programme of study, counselling, therapy and enrichment specially designed to meet their particular needs.  Neve Landy requires a counsellor on duty at all times who can watch over the children at night to make them feel safe and secure at all times.

Beit Esther at Beit Elazraki Girls Home - Netanya

Built in 1997 this centre provides a home for girls between the ages of 14-18 who are unable to return to their families. Many of the young women who are recipients of this care go on to university and careers.
